Arogya Mantra is a registered New Zealand charity with donee status.
There are some key people and organisations who are driving this project, including our governance board
Our Vision;
Our vision is to provide New-Zealanders with quality cross cultural opportunities that are affordable, accessible and promote the health and wellbeing of our diverse hapori.
Our charity supports a range of community initiatives that address unmet health, culture and community related needs in New Zealand.
It all started when…
We began this charity while training as medical students. It occurred to us that we should do something to give back to our community. And here we are today!
How are we related to Aaja Nachle?
The charitable trust board (Arogya Mantra) governs the community dance school (Aaja Nachle) and directs the school to fulfil its charitable intentions.
Specifically to Aaja Nachle, the charitable goals set upon the school are to empower our South Asian community to embrace its culture, heritage and arts and use these modalities as a tool to improve their health and wellbeing.
Aaja Nachle runs as a social enterprise and funnels its profits into the charity Arogya Mantra. The charity has been able to fund free or subsidised events, classes, performance opportunities and screening events.
Who created these organisations and who runs it?
The answers are you and you! It's a fantastic example of a grassroots, community-developed and driven project.
The need for this community school and charity was identified by youth from the local migrant community.
The people that help to run these projects individually volunteered, or were recruited through nominations.
The services and outputs were developed over ten years working with you - our community.
This is your organisation, and its success depends on all of us.

From weekly radio shows when we first launched Arogya, to discuss common health problems and talk to callers about their health and fitness concerns to support marketing and running our community events. A heartfelt thank you to Pawan. Hemant and everyone from Tarana.
